Another small gripe is the fact that the single payer campaign is only available when connected online. While the game is free, much of the better equipment and skills require micro transactions. Multiplayer maps are on the small side but offer a fast and furious style of fight. The campaign stretches across several continents and has a predictable modern military plot complete with the usual deaths and betrayals. Modern Combat 5: eSports FPS does not do anything new, but does everything well. Graphics are above average, controls are decent for a mobile title and matchmaking is solid. Players choose from a variety of classes and then earn XP for better guns and skills, equipping their chosen armour for a unique play style. The game is split into two main modes, campaign and death-match. I tried using an gamepad / controller and the system is too buggy for comfortable gameplay. It's hard for this game to remain in the competitive scene with games such as COD Mobile allowing external controllers, for example. With obvious design inspiration from genre leader Modern Warfare, Modern Combat 5: eSports FPS is a fairly derivative if well-designed FPS game. Modern Combat 5 is losing out alot to its competitors by not evolving fast enough to suit the current playerbase. Battle through a full campaign mode or join with friends to compete against other online players.
